Tuesday, 22 November 2011

The ABI Motor conference will be the premier gathering of motor insurers and experts. It will provide an excellent opportunity for key stakeholders to engage on the wide range of issues facing the motor insurance market including the implementation of the recommendations on civil litigation reform made by Lord Justice Jackson, initiatives aimed at tackling fraud and will look at how insurers can effectively engage with consumers.

The insurance industry’s determination to protect customers from the cost of insurance fraud moved up a gear with the announcement of a national Insurance Fraud Register. The ABI Motor Conference will hear from Commander Ian Dyson, City of London Police, and Glen Marr, Director, Insurance Fraud Bureau, on some of the latest initiatives being undertaken to help tackle fraudulent claims. The database will enable insurers to identify anyone who fails to declare a previous fraudulent insurance claim and follows a six month pilot exercise. It should be fully operational by early 2012.

The conference will start with registration at 09h00 and conclude with a drinks reception at 17H20.
