Last updated: 30/09/2011 10:53

On these pages, you can find general information about insurance, pensions and other products provided by the industry - and links to specialised advice. We explain the different types of insurance available, help you calculate the right sum insured for your house and try to answer some frequently asked questions.

As a trade body, the ABI does not regulate insurers or mediate in disputes. But we do want to help our members' customers. On these pages you will find information about your options if you are dissatisfied with the treatment you have received from your insurer along with links to those who can hear your complaints.

Age Action Alliance:

The ABI is now a partner in the Age Action Alliance, launched on 30 September 2011, to coincide with Older People’s Day celebrations. We are joining dozens of organisations from across the voluntary, private and public sectors who are coming together to celebrate the lives of older people and address the challenges of our ageing society. The Alliance aims to improve the lives of older people, prevent deprivation in later life and challenge age discrimination.    The ABI sees this alliance as offering the opportunity to work with a diverse range of organisations with an interest in helping people meet the challenges and opportunities they face in later life. The focus is on practical initiatives rather than policy. Our priorities are to identify potential alliances and initiatives which could help people prepare for, and manage through retirement, in financial terms.

The Declaration of the Alliance and the list of organisations in the Alliance can be found on the right-hand side of this page in related documents.
