ABI IN NEW RUSSIAN INSURANCE TRAINING PROGRAMME

The Association of British Insurers has announced that it will again be playing an activerole in a major European project to provide insurance training in Russia.

The 1.5 million ECU (£1 million) contract will run for three years and involve the creationof:

  • an insurance research and information centre with Moscow State University


  • a pilot-project distance learning centre with Moscow State Finance Academy


  • an insurance research and information centre with the University of Economics and Finance and the Institute of Insurance in St Petersburg.


Commenting, Mark Boléat, the ABI's Director General, said:

"The Association of British Insurers is delighted to be involved in a second project to provide highly valued insurance training in Moscow and St Petersburg.

"We are very pleased to be working again with the Chartered Insurance Institute in framing the UK contribution to the packages on training and qualifications, and with insurance associations from other countries through the Comité Européen des Assurances (CEA)."
