Pass Plus scoops prestigious road safety award

Pass Plus has won the Driver Training Award at the prestigious Prince Michael Road Safety Awards, held this week at The Savoy, London. Pass Plus shares the award with the Fife Pass Plus Initiative.

The Prince Michael International Road Safety Awards recognise achievements and innovations, which will improve road safety. All road users, including pedestrians, drivers and cyclists are asked to identify initiatives that make roads safer.

John Parker, of the Pass Plus Board, said:

“Pass Plus is honoured to receive this prestigious award. Pass Plus is making a significant contribution to road safety by making newly qualified drivers, who are involved in a disproportionate number of accidents, better drivers.

Since its introduction in 1995, over 110,000 young drivers have taken Pass Plus. Research shows that they feel much more confident about their driving skills as a result. The scheme not only brings extra experience and positive driving skills, but can also mean cheaper motor insurance premiums for young drivers.”
