The ABI announced today the appointment of two new members of its Media Relations team. Emma Grainge, joins the team from Marks & Spencer Financial Services and Leonie Edwards joins from Gavin Anderson & Company. Both will report to Alan Leaman, Head of Media & Political Affairs and join Malcolm Tarling as Assistant Media Relations Managers.

While there was one existing vacancy, following the departure of Suzanne Moore to work in Hong Kong, the move marks an expansion of the team with the creation of an additional Assistant Manager position.

Having worked for Guardian Health, PPP healthcare and Marks & Spencer Financial Services, Emma Grainge has a total of five years experience within the insurance industry, four of which have been in public relations roles.

Leonie Edwards previously was an Associate Director at Gavin Anderson & Company, a financial and corporate PR consultancy. Her clients included Gartmore Investment Management, Scottish Provident, Towers Perrin and Barclays Bank.

Alan Leaman said, ‘The ABI is often the first port of call for journalists who are writing about the insurance industry. The expansion of the team will enable us, not only to enhance the service we provide to journalists, but with two excellent new appointments, to take a more strategic approach to communicating the key issues that affect our members.’
