The ABI working with Members

The ABI has established a Solvency II working party and a Solvency II lobby group.  

The Solvency II working party addresses the more technical issues and questions. This group provides a forum in which to develop a UK industry position to put forward in our discussions with the European insurance association (the CEA), the European Commission and CEIOPS. In particular, this group provides detailed comment to support our responses to the consultation documents issued by CEIOPS and others.  

The Solvency II lobby group brings together key individuals from insurers’ lobbying and public affairs areas for briefing on current issues in the development of the new directive and provides an opportunity to discuss and agree key lobbying objectives. The group has an important co-ordinating role to ensure that consistent messages are delivered to the right targets at appropriate times, avoiding any unhelpful duplication.
