2h) Property

This section contains several tables with data on Property Damage business including statistics on premiums and claims, commission and expenses, change in provisions, equalisation reserves, underwriting result, operating ratios, and overseas data.  Also included are quarterly claims statistics on the major perils affecting property insurance business (both domestic and commercial), namely fire, theft, weather damage, business interruption and subsidence. The Household Rebuilding Cost Index for linking buildings sum insured and the Consumer durables index for contents insurance are also provided.  A data bulletin brings all these figures together to look at the market trends over an eleven year period.
