Chris Rumsey

Chris Rumsey joined the ABI’s Public Affairs Team in 2019 and has been responsible for managing our relationships with key parliamentary stakeholders on General Insurance and Long-Term Savings priorities from the response to flooding, fire safety and multi-occupancy buildings insurance and on Motor Insurance.

As Public Affairs Manager in the team from 2022, Chris worked closely with members to engage on the Future Regulatory Framework for Financial Services, and the secondary growth and competitiveness objective in the Financial Services and Markets Bill, as well as Solvency II reform and proposals for pension investment. Chris has also been responsible for the ABI’s engagement approach with Labour, building relationships with the Shadow Treasure team to engage on industry priorities.

Before joining the ABI Chris worked in several public affairs agencies, where he was responsible for managing political stakeholder engagement and public consultation on major development projects across London and also represented firms working in the energy sector.
