Louise Hanson

Director of Advocacy

Louise is Director of Advocacy at the ABI and is responsible for its member relations, communications and public affairs work.

Louise has over 20 years’ experience as a leading campaigner and advocate specialising in regulated sectors including financial services and energy markets.

She joined the ABI in 2012 as Head of Strategy and before that was Head of Advocacy at Which? lobbying in the UK, EU and internationally. Louise has contributed her expertise as a Trustee and Director to numerous charities and organisations.

She was a member of the Legal Services Complaints Commissioner’s Consumer Board; a trustee of the financial charity, pfeg and represented Which? on the Board of the European consumer organisation, BEUC, and on the Council Board of the global organisation Consumers’ International. She is currently Chair of the Sheila McKechnie Foundation.
