The ABI is pleased to invite members and visitors to the UK alike to International Perspectives on International Regulation, held on Thursday, 29 June following the conclusion of the first day of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors’ (IAIS) Global Seminar

This is a timely discussion of the key issues in international standard setting for insurers. The first version of Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) is on the verge of being finalised in preparation for extended fielding testing. The IAIS has also started to consider an activities-based approach to considering systemic risk in insurance. Last, but certainly not least, a package of revisions to the Common Framework for the Supervision of Internationally Active Insurance Groups (ComFrame) is currently open for consultation. The ABI is pleased to welcome an expert panel to share perspectives on these important issues that are set to shape the future of regulatory discussions around the world for years to come.

The discussion is hosted by the Director General of the ABI, Huw Evans, and features introductory remarks by Victoria Saporta, Executive Director – Prudential Policy at the Bank of England and Chair of the Executive Committee of the IAIS.

Confirmed speakers:

  • George Brady, Senior Adviser and Insurance Lead, International Institute of Finance (IIF)
  • Cristina Mihai, Head of Prudential Regulation and International Affairs, Insurance Europe, member of GFIA
  •  Dave Sandberg, Chair, International Actuarial Association

  • Romain Paserot, Deputy Secretary General, International Association of Insurance Supervisors
