GDPR comes into force on 25 May 2018 and will be complemented in the UK the by a new Data Protection Act. Insurers take the security of customers’ personal data extremely seriously and the Data Protection Act should provide some welcome clarity on the future data regime. As responsible users of personal data, insurers need clear legal requirements to support them providing the best possible service to customers when underwriting risks and handling claims. There are challenges and opportunities for insurers navigating the new landscape.
This roundtable will discuss the topic of GDPR and is the second of three in 2018 exploring various themes, where we bring together members, stakeholders and Associate Members to discuss some of the major policy and regulatory topics challenging our sector.
