The gender pay gap is well established, and so is the gender pensions gap. But what has received much less attention are more fundamental reasons for women having poorer long term savings outcomes, including gender differences in the language used about money and how public policy can disadvantage women.
Anne Boden, CEO of Starling Bank, will speak about her campaign “Make Money Equal”, based on linguistic research which uncovered stereotypes in the way men and women are spoken to about money. We will then debate with policy makers, senior representatives from long term savings providers, and opinion formers what else needs to happen to enable women to achieve equality with men in their savings and investment outcomes.
