Simon is a director in EY’s EMEIA Financial Services Tax team, specialising in indirect tax. He advises a wide range of insurance and banking groups on VAT issues, both in the UK and globally. He has 15 years of experience working both
in-house and within the Big 4. He joined EY from KPMG in 2014.
Simon is recognised as a leading technical adviser and, whilst his primary focus is on UK indirect tax issues, he has detailed knowledge of VAT across
the EU and beyond. Over the last couple of years, Simon has led a number of significant Brexit projects for insurers restructuring their European businesses. He also assists clients with indirect tax controversy and litigation matters. Recent projects have included support in relation to VAT recovery challenges as well as the treatment of intercompany services.
