Katie Fisher OBE, Director of Strategy, Financial Conduct Authority

Katie Fisher 9016.jpgKatie is currently the interim Director of Strategy at the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), having originally joined the FCA in May 2019 as the Head of the Brexit Policy Department she is now responsible for taking forward the Future of Regulation work, as well as cross cutting Policy work such as Climate change and the FCA’s Strategic planning and prioritisation. Katie has spent much of her career in Her Majesty’s Treasury (HMT), apart from an initial spell at the Office for National Statistics, and a couple of years at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC. Her work at HMT was mainly on a range of domestic and EU financial services regulatory policy questions. Katie worked on both the post financial crisis legislative reform from 2008 onwards, and most recently oversaw the programme to deliver a functioning UK financial services regulatory regime, on the UK’s departure from the EU. She joined the FCA in May 2019 leading the Brexit policy and handbook department and taking forward work on the Future of Regulation.
