The Building Safety Bill is expected to be introduced to Parliament soon - legislation which will be responsible for implementing crucial changes to the UK’s building regulatory system. We are hosting an online panel session with Chair of the Housing Select Committee Chair Clive Betts MP, the RIBA, ABI, LGA, NFCC, RICS and CIOB to provide you the opportunity to learn the latest thinking on the future of England’s fire safety regime, and question our expert panel on their views on where government and industry can and should go next – find out more and sign up to the event here.

Three years after the Grenfell Tower tragedy there are still widespread calls for firmer regulation and improved guidance to ensure our built environment is safe for all. Although there has been progress in some areas such as combustible materials and sprinkler systems, a wide range of sectors still await vital information and change from government.

This event is hosted by the RIBA, in partnership with the Association of British Insurers, National Fire Chiefs Council, Local Government Association, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Chartered Institute for Building and brings together speakers from across these sectors alongside Chair of the Housing Select Committee Clive Betts MP.

Confirmed speakers:

  • Chair: Adrian Dobson, Executive Director Professional Services, Royal Institute of British Architects
  • Clive Betts MP, Chair of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Select Committee
  • Nick Coombe, Protection & Business Safety, Vice Chair, National Fire Chiefs Council
