Matthew is responsible for setting the strategic policy agenda for UK Finance and its 300 members in the banking and finance industry in the light of emerging market developments. He is also responsible for promoting high-quality, coordinated and effective policy-making across UK Finance and leads on strategic and public-policy issues.
Matthew was previously UK Finance’s Director of UK Public Affairs. Before that, he was Head of Group Regulatory Policy at Lloyds Banking Group and a regulator at the Financial Conduct Authority and Ofcom, having started his career as a civil servant in a range of UK Government departments.
