Catherine joined QBE European Operations in 2004 and has over 25 years’ experience in the London insurance market. At QBE, she established the second line Risk Management Function and sponsored the Solvency II programme. In 2014, she moved into first line operations to set up an Operational Risk Function with primary goals being to mitigate risk and increase operational resilience. Key areas of focus have included business continuity, information security, GDPR, third party risk and procurement. She is currently sponsoring the operational resilience programme.
Prior to QBE, she held a variety of roles in insurance, first at Commercial Union (Aviva) where she worked for a number of years in marine underwriting. She then moved to the Corporation of Lloyd’s, initially focusing on syndicate performance and Lloyd’s Market exposure to disaster scenarios, and then worked on establishing an enterprise risk management framework for the Corporation. Catherine is ACII qualified, holds Chartered Insurer status and a first-class honours degree in Business Studies.
