Peter Kohlhagen is currently the general manager of APRA's Advice and Approvals area, having been appointed to that role in April 2019. In that capacity, Peter leads APRA's actuarial, accounting, capital and technical specialists across the banking, insurance and superannuation industries.
Peter represents APRA on the Policy Development Committee of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors and has recently been appointed as the Oceania representative on the Executive Committee of the IAIS. He is a member of the Sustainable Insurance Forum and co-chair of the joint SIF/IAIS drafting group developing the application paper on climate risk.
Peter joined APRA in 2005. He holds Bachelor's degrees in Law and Economics from the Australian National University and a Master's degree in Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
