Neil is a Director at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG). Since June 2017, Neil has been leading policy on building safety following the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Neil is a career Civil Servant who has worked in five different Government departments. His other recent roles as a Director have included sponsorship of Fire and Rescue Services and the response to national emergencies; and policies and programmes to promote community cohesion. Neil was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by the Queen in the 2016 New Year’s Honours, for services to Fire Safety and Flood Resilience.
