Recognising that an insurer’s true performance goes beyond financial reporting with a shifting emphasis towards issues such as sustainability, ESG and more broadly on how insurers create long term sustainable value is the key focus of this year’s Financial and Corporate Reporting event (the first of its name). Whilst this focus grows, we continue to recognise the challenges remaining in financial reporting, specifically with IFRS 17 following the endorsement by the UK Endorsement board of the standard for UK use. Discussions will now focus on outstanding implementation issues, insurers’ plans for market communication of results post 'go live' on 1 January 2023 and possible topics to be addressed by the standards post implementation review when this commences.

IFRS 17 photo.jpgOver and above the elements of IFRS 17, this event will focus on areas such as the UK’s recently mandated Taskforce for Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) reporting, the upcoming standards being developed by the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), as well as what the impending UK’s green taxonomy means for preparers and users of reports. Additionally, we will cover other relevant topics including integrated reporting, as the IFRS Foundation seeks to incorporate the Integrated Reporting Framework into its tool kit, as well as the wider audit and corporate governance reform proposals being put forward in the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy’s (BEIS) white paper on transforming audit and corporate governance.

Supported by a line-up of excellent subject matter expert speakers, all the topics above will be covered in what promises to be an insightful and engaging event which we sincerely hope you will join us for.
