In this Associate member roundtable, we will discuss how the Insurance and Long-Term Savings sector can contribute to realigning the economy to reach Net Zero. As the COP26 conference held in Glasgow demonstrated, the urgency of the issue is well understood and business leaders are committed to showing leadership. However, more is needed to put in place the public policy, regulatory and legal frameworks needed to shape the transition.
This roundtable will explore how our sector is navigating the increasing volume of regulatory and reporting requirements and, in particular, what the upcoming Sustainability Disclosure Regime (SDR) and the proposed FCA labelling regime will mean for firms. We will also look at the actions the sector is taking through the ABI’s Climate Roadmap to reduce its own carbon footprint and help its customers become more sustainable, ranging from pension saving choices to electric vehicles and home energy efficiency. What does best practice look like and where will collective sector-wide action have the most impact?
