Michael Ludlow is Global Head of Tax for Swiss Re having direct international tax experience from working in UK, Kenya, Singapore, and Switzerland. Under Michael's leadership, Swiss Re's global tax team is focused on providing commercial business tax advice with robust tax risk management. He has achieved this through strategic transformation of the tax function, leveraging technology and in/outsourcing arrangements to automate and deliver optimal tax processes.
A keen advocate of sustainability Michael worked in conservation in Kenya and now champions the role of tax, transparency, carbon tax etc in the ESG agenda. Michael chairs the European Business Tax Forum, a pan European group of the largest MNCs focused on ensuring fair debate around tax transparency.
Michael also sponsors the neurodiversity network within Swiss Re and represents the firm as Founder Members of GAIN, a cross-insurance industry body collaborating to accelerate the benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace. Michael holds an honours degree in Geography and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.
