Matthew is responsible for strategic policy development in relation to regulatory reform, sustainability, diversity & inclusion and major cross-cutting regulatory initiatives at UK Finance, the collective voice for the banking and finance industry. He previously headed strategy and public affairs and before that was Head of Group Regulatory Policy at Lloyds Banking Group, a policy consultant at the Financial Conduct Authority and a director at Ofcom. He began his career as a civil servant, working in a range of UK government departments including HM Treasury.
