Cécile Fresneau has been with QBE since January 2018 as Executive Director of the UK, before being promoted to Managing Director for the Insurance Division in April 2021. She also holds the responsibility of active underwriter for QBE syndicate386. Prior to joining QBE, Cécile held senior roles with Zurich Insurance for close to 7 years, including Chief Underwriting Officer for Zurich’s UK General Insurance business from 2014 to 2018 and global Personal Lines roles based in Switzerland. Cécile has 19 years’ experience in insurance, initially as a strategy consultant with the firm Booz Allen & Hamilton (now Strategy&, the consulting arm of PWC) working on assignments in insurance M&A, Claims, Distribution and Underwriting, then taking on pricing, underwriting and strategy roles at Insurance Australia Group, based in Sydney.
Cécile has held positions on the supervisory boards of UK industry associations, including the Insurance Fraud Bureau and the Motor Insurance Bureau. She is currently a member of the General Insurance Council of the ABI and chairing the Pandemic Re steering group. Cécile is a graduate of French Business School ESSEC (Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales) and holds a Masters of Business Administration from the AGSM (Australian Graduate School of Management).
