Paul joined Simplyhealth as Chief Executive Officer in May 2024, motivated by the opportunity to make a difference to the health of people across the UK. Prior to this, Paul was the Interim CEO at the Wellcome Trust, a global charitable foundation where the purpose is to support science to solve the urgent health challenges. Paul was also the Global Therapeutics co-lead of the World Health Organisation’s accelerating Covid tools partnership. In the earlier parts of his career, Paul attained a PhD in chemical engineering from the University of Cambridge and was appointed to the Australian Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet as deputy secretary with responsibility for economic policy and strategy.
