The ABI holds a range of events from member-only technical briefings to major strategy conferences with influential keynote speakers. ABI events are CII accredited for CPD hours and ABI members receive a discounted member rate for a number of ABI events.
Over the course of 2020 – 2021 the ABI’s events have been adapted to be delivered in the form of webinars to enable us to continue to provide ABI members and stakeholders with the wide range of events the ABI is known for. This also includes on-demand webinars to watch at your convenience.
In 2020 we delivered over 45 agenda setting events covering the future of motor insurance, diversity, tax, Covid 19 & the economic recovery and Mental health and access to insurance.

- 16 Ministers and regulators spoke at events throughout 2020
- 1,000 trees planted through the World Land Trust scheme, as part of our sustainability strategy for our events
ABI Annual Conference 2020 & 2021
More than 400 delegates joined us for our 2020 Annual Conference at 155 Bishopsgate on 25th February. Attendees heard agenda-setting keynote speeches from Chris Mason, Political Correspondent; Tony Juniper, Leading Sustainability Author and Environmental Advisor; Nick Ferrari, Journalist and Broadcaster and Rachel Johnson, Journalist and Broadcaster. Political and reputational risks, fairness and ethics were the key themes of the conference, and discussions focused around sustainability, the data revolution and the changing political landscape. Panel and break-out sessions examined topics such as general insurance pricing, Insurance and the nation’s health & wellbeing, operational resilience and cutting edge approaches to financial advice.
In 2021, due to the Covid 19 pandemic we took the Annual conference virtual. More than 500 delegates joined us on our virtual platform where they heard keynote speeches from General The Lord Richard Dannatt, Chairman, National Emergencies Trust; John Glen MP, Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister; Rt Hon Rory Stewart, Former Secretary of State for International Development; June Sarpong OBE, TV Presenter, Diversity Expert & Award-winning Author and Paul Waugh, Executive Editor, HuffPost UK. Strategic and reputational challenges for Insurance and Long-Term Savings in 2021 and Insurance and Long-Term Savings' role in addressing Climate change were the key themes for the day and breakout sessions covered a range of topics including Covid-19 and vulnerable customers, Solvency II take two and Governance, value and responsible investment in long-term savings.
