John migrated to the UK from Nigeria in 2008 to study at the University of St Andrews, where he obtained a master’s degree in Management and Information Technology. He then joined Lloyds Banking Group in 2010 as a Customer Service Advisor. He is now a Senior Manager within the Insurance Risk team. He leads the Ethnicity Pillar as part of the Insurance Inclusion & Diversity agenda. He runs quarterly Cultural Cafes to promote and raise awareness of cultural differences and similarities to build a progressive business and champion colleague engagement. John is listed as one of LBG’s top 50 Ethnicity Role Model 2018 List for building a culture where colleagues trust and value each other and feel empowered. John mentors ethnic minority colleagues to progress within the organisation. Outside of work he is a Youth Leader & Head of Operations within his community and local church. He enjoys leading and acting as a role model for youths in the local church and abroad, helping them to develop their skills and confidence and encouraging them towards a brighter future.
