Lauren Hankinson
Interim Assistant Director and Head of Public Affairs
Lauren Hankinson is the Interim Assistant Director and Head of Public Affairs at the ABI, overseeing the delivery of impactful political stakeholder engagement and advocacy.
Lauren has joined the ABI after previously leading on Public Affairs at DS Smith plc and, prior to that, G4S plc (now part of the Allied Universal Group).
She started her career a qualified solicitor (England & Wales) specialising in Structured Finance and Derivatives at Dentons and then CMS. Lauren then moved into political campaigning where she was part of the Better Together campaign team (Stakeholder Engagement Lead) to keep Scotland in the United Kingdom. Following this campaign, she worked for the Secretary of State for Scotland during the Smith Commission negotiations before becoming the Conservative Party’s Advisor on Brexit and Foreign Affairs.
Lauren has degrees from Durham University (2006) and the University of Law (2010). She established Women2Win Scotland alongside Baroness Jenkin and Baroness Davidson, and was previously a governor of an early years federation in Brent.
