The ABI Financial Media Awards winners for 2009

High standards in financial services journalism were recognised last night as the winners of the ABI Financial Media Awards for 2009 were announced at a dinner in central London, attended by nearly 300 representatives from the financial services industry and financial journalists. Winners of each of the 15 awards were voted for by the communications and press teams at the ABI's member companies.

The BBC's financial programme Money Box scooped the award for Best Financial Programme for the second year in a row. The award was sponsored by Glasgow's International Financial Services District.

The Guardian was named Personal Finance Newspaper of the Year, with Holly Thomas, Daily Express, picking up the award for Personal Finance Journalist of the Year.

At opposite ends of the spectrum, Tony Levene collected the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award, while Sophy Ridge, News of the World, was voted Up and Coming Financial Journalist of the Year.
