ABI comments on uninsured vehicles seized in London

More than 180 vehicles have been seized in the latest Metropolitan Police crackdown on uninsured driving.

Vehicles including a Lamborghini Aventador were seized in London on Tuesday as part of Operation Cubo.

Uninsured drivers cost the insurance industry an estimated £400m each year, which according to AA figures adds around £33 to the cost of every car insurance policy.

The ABI's Malcolm Tarling said:

“Uninsured motorists not only make London’s roads more dangerous but push up the cost of motor insurance for all drivers in the capital. This is why the police and the insurance industry are determined to crackdown on the problem, with the police seizing more uninsured vehicles than ever before.”
