The Financial Ombudsman Service today published its six-monthly complaints data for individual financial businesses.
In response, an ABI spokesperson said:
"Insurers take every complaint very seriously, and are continually working to further improve the claims process. We are pleased to see a 7% reduction of complaints against insurers and complaints for all financial products (other than payment protection insurance) falling since the first half of 2013. Every day, insurers pay out £12.5 million in property claims and £1.1 million in accident claims.
"Like the Financial Ombudsman Service, insurers want to see the number of complaints falling, and are continuing to work to reduce the scope for customer complaints."
