ABI welcomes Accenture into associate membership

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) is delighted to welcome global professional services company Accenture into the associate membership scheme.

Accenture has been working with the insurance industry for over 30 years, with more than 401,000 people working with clients in more than 120 countries. Accenture specialise in areas such as product, policy, billing and underwriting functions.

The ABI’s Associate Membership category was developed to enable non-insurance companies to join the ABI, such as those helping insurers deliver their services. Associate members benefit from services including access to the full range of ABI statistics, industry updates, thought leadership work, networking opportunities and reduced rates for ABI events.

Huw Evans, ABI Director General, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Accenture to the ABI’s Associate Member programme. They are a firm with a global reach and I know they share many of the ABI’s own interests – including  the potential for innovation and InsurTech to benefit both the insurance sector and consumers. I look forward to seeing them engaging even more closely with our wider membership.”

Fergal Spencer, Managing Director in Accenture’s Insurance Practice, said:

“We work with insurers to embrace digital innovation and drive growth in the industry, so we are delighted to become an associate member of the Association of British Insurers. We look forward to working with ABI and taking part in a broadened discussion of the insurance industry, as well as benefitting from its network and insights to serve our clients.

“It’s an exciting time for insurers. They have the opportunity with data and technology to completely revolutionise their relationship with customers, and the role of the profession itself. With driverless cars on the road, cyber risks and the explosion of data generated by the internet of things – new technologies, such as artificial intelligence and robotic automation, can help unlock value as insurers look to grow in a new and digital landscape.”
