ABI reacts to timeline for the development for the pensions dashboard project

Today the Pensions Dashboard Programme have announced a timeline for the development of pensions dashboards. Pensions Dashboards will enable consumers to view all their pension pots in one place. The Association of British Insurers (ABI) was one of the earliest backers of pensions dashboards and led the cross-industry project that built the pensions dashboard prototype for HM Treasury.

Rob Yuille, Assistant Director, Head of Long-Term Savings at the Association of British Insurers said:

“Most importantly, today’s update provides a clear timeline of when we can expect the public to start using dashboards and what needs to happen first. That gives certainty for industry and allows time to make sure the dashboards work effectively and are user friendly. The timeline is longer than we might have wanted but the project has now made tangible progress and reached key milestones.

The dashboards project requires complex digital infrastructure and collaboration across sectors – moving into the next phase, it is vital that government, regulators and industry continue to work as effectively as they have so far.”
