Today the European Commission has given the go ahead for the continued free flow of data between the UK and the EU. The decision will be ratified by EU member states. It is welcome news and formed one of our three key post-Brexit asks that we have been campaigning on since 2016.

“We very much welcome the Commission’s draft decision on data adequacy to allow the continued free flow of data between the UK -EU. We have long pressed for such an approach - it is the most legally sound way of sharing personal data. We hope that the process to formally adopt the decision will be swift from here.”
