Greening Finance: A Roadmap to Sustainable Investing sets out the Government’s ambition to make the UK the best place in the world for green and sustainable investment. It focuses on the first step to deliver this: ensuring that the information exists to enable every financial decision to factor in climate change and the environment.

"The publication of the Sustainable Investment Roadmap is an important step forward, and we are pleased that the Government supports our call for mandatory transition plans across the economy.
“Consistent sustainability reporting is critical to reaching net-zero, and can help unleash the investment we need to get on track and track progress against transition plans. We also welcome the focus on developing a consistent Green Taxonomy, which is critical to their success.
“Firms across the Insurance and Long-Term Savings sector have already been actively developing transition plans and these form a key part of the 2025 milestones outlined in the ABI’s Climate Roadmap published earlier this year.”
