HSBC Life, Just Group, and Premium Credit sign the Making Flexible Work charter on one year anniversary

HSBC Life, Just Group, and Premium Credit Ltd are the latest firms to sign up to the Association of British Insurers’ (ABI) Making Flexible Work Charter, one year on from its launch.

The ABI’s Making Flexible Work Charter launched in April 2021 and aims to increase flexible working opportunities across the insurance and long-term savings industry.

Firms who sign the Charter agree to fulfil three key commitments within 12 months, including:

  • Publishing details of flexible working policies, so that they are available for employees and prospective candidates.
  • Advertising the majority of roles as being open to flexible working, including part-time working and job-shares if appropriate.
  • Implementing processes and guidance to support and promote different forms of flexible working, including job sharing.

These commitments aim to attract and retain the very best talent from all backgrounds, unlocking career opportunities for disabled people and supporting more women to progress into senior roles.

Mitchell Barker, Head of Product and Chief Distribution Officer at HSBC Life (UK) Ltd, said:

“Flexible working enables our colleagues to better balance their working lives with their personal responsibilities and commitments to others and themselves.
