Windstorm research

In 2017 the ABI collaborated with catastrophe modeller AIR Worldwide and the Met Office to undertake research on windstorm losses under various climate scenarios. The research considers UK property insurance losses as a result of windstorm in 1.5, 3 and 4.5 degree scenarios, with the model suggesting both overall increases in insured losses and an interesting regional divide between the south and north of the country.
