Steven Findlay, Assistant Director, Head of Prudential Regulation

Steven is Head of the Prudential Regulation team at the ABI.

The team is responsible for the development and implementation of policy concerning the prudential supervision and regulation of insurers, which includes managing relationships between the industry and regulators in the UK, EU and internationally, including the Bank of England, EIOPA and the IAIS.  Steven and the team focus on a variety of policy issues including Solvency II, long-term investment, international capital standards and accountancy standards.

Steven joined the ABI in 2014 from Oliver Wyman Ltd, where he was an Associate in the Insurance practice, based in London, covering the EMEA region. Prior to that, he was an actuary at Aegon UK, holding a variety of roles in Actuarial, Finance and Sales. 

Steven has a first class degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh.  He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary.

Callum Tanner, Policy Adviser, Prudential Regulation

Callum Tanner is a Policy adviser and member of the Prudential Regulation team. He is responsible for policy analysis and influencing of the international and investment aspects of prudential regulation in insurance.

He joined the ABI in 2019 from Risk.net, where he was responsible for writing news stories and features on EU financial regulation. Prior to that he was a senior journalist at Insurance ERM magazine.

Began his career as a conference producer, having studied History at King’s College London.
