Matthew Field is a Policy Adviser and member of the ABI Conduct Regulation team. He joined the ABI in January 2021, following a career break. Prior to that he spent fourteen years at the FCA, where he worked at various times as a life insurance supervisor, and as a policymaker, in both life and general insurance. Matthew worked on the IDD, on the SM&CR for insurers, and attended meetings of the IAIS. He began his career as a policy adviser for the Department of Work and Pensions, joined the insurance desk at HM Treasury, and then moved to the FSA/FCA.
