Tracy Garrad, Chief Executive Officer, AXA Health

Tracy GarradTracy has been responsible for AXA’s healthcare businesses in the UK, formerly AXA PPP, since January 2019, having worked within a variety of industries and sectors during her career.

She joined AXA from HSBC, where she held a variety of senior management roles including Chief Executive of First Direct and Chief Executive for HSBC in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man, overseeing all retail and commercial operations in those territories. Prior to HSBC, she worked for Santander and for Abbey National concentrating on Technology Transformation and Business Acquisition and Integration.

As well as being an Executive Director of AXA UK, Tracy is an appointed commissioner on the Board of the Jersey Financial Services Commission and a Non-Executive Director of London Stock Exchange Plc.

Having navigated her career from very humble beginnings and departure from formal education at aged 17 to take on family caring responsibilities, she is a passionate advocate for Social Mobility and in 2021 was appointed to the City of London Taskforce to improve Socio Economic Diversity in the Financial Services Industry.

She is executive sponsor for diversity and inclusion initiatives across AXA’s UK and Ireland businesses, and she was named in 2017 as one of 100 “women to watch” in Cranfield University’s FTSE Board Report. In 2021 Tracy was named in the Top 20 HERoes Women role Models and is currently serving as a Member of the HMT Women in Finance Charter Accountable Exec Taskforce. In August 2022 she received admission to the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of her efforts to increase diversity in Financial Services.
