After retiring from full-time work in 2020 David returned to Lloyd’s where he had previously been Head of Tax & Treasury. He has significant experience of UK and international tax policy making both from a governmental and an industry perspective. He began his career in 1984 as a tax inspector, holding various Inland Revenue operational, technical and policy roles and undertaking a 3-year secondment to the European Commission in the 1990s. After 8 years at Lloyd’s he joined Deloitte as a partner from 2007 to 2020 where he advised insurance and broking groups and led the insurance tax practice.
