Matthew Fountain has been with AIG, based in London, for over ten years and is currently Regional Tax Director with responsibility for tax compliance and reporting in respect of the Talbot and Validus business units and the LATAM and MEA regions, and Canada; he also works closely with AIG Global Real Estate on global real estate transactions, tax compliance and reporting; and is responsible for Common Reporting Standard globally. Matthew works closely with the Tax Strategy group advising on tax aspects of internal restructuring, capital planning, and M&A also across EMEA and LATAM, and Canada. Through this role he also participates in AIG’s lobbying efforts in respect of tax reform, including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s Base Erosion and Profit Shifting proposals.
