James joined the MIB as Chief Services Officer in December 2022. James is responsible for the organisation’s strategy, strategic planning and customer relationship management; has responsibility for the database services the MIB provides including the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE), the Motor Insurers Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR), the Motor Insurers’ Database (MID) and MyLicence; and manages the MIB’s client company relationships with the Employers’ Liability Tracing Office (ELTO), Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB), Official Injury Claims Limited (OICL) and Claims Portal Limited (CPL). James is also responsible for the MIB’s Customer Operations including Continuous Insurance Enforcement, the Police Helpline and the MIB’s Information Centre.
James was previously Director of General Insurance Policy at the Association of British Insurers (ABI) where he represented the views of the UK’s insurance sector to Ministers, regulators, Parliamentarians, and other senior stakeholders across the UK and internationally. Prior to joining the ABI, James worked at New Zealand’s (then) Ministry of Economic Development, having studied Law and Political Studies at the University of Otago, New Zealand.
