Adrian Smith is the Chief Executive of Reclaim Fund Ltd (RFL). RFL is the UK’s sole reclaim fund and operates the Dormant Assets Scheme, RFL is a not-for-profit, arms-length body of government, regulated by the FCA.
Adrian was responsible for leading the project to establish RFL in 2009/10 and became its Chief Executive in 2011. Over the last five years he has worked in collaboration with the UK government and industry to expand the Dormant Assets Scheme to the insurance and pensions, investments and wealth management and securities sectors, and is part of the Dormant Assets Expansion Board.
Adrian was awarded an OBE for services to the financial sector in 2022 and holds an MBA in Leadership & Sustainability. Prior to his work with RFL, he was a senior leader at Britannia Building Society, Bank of Ireland and Bristol & West Building Society and a former Non-Executive Director of Mutual Plus Ltd. Adrian is an appointed member of the Association of Chief Executives and a Trustee of the Plunkett Foundation.
