Mark joined Unum in February 2021 to lead Unum’s International business operating in the UK and Poland. The business has a common purpose with the US parent and is centred on helping people in the workplace through life’s difficult moments. In the last two years the business has seen significant growth in customer satisfaction, employee engagement and the financial performance of the business as it embarks on a substantial growth plan.
Prior to joining Unum, Mark was Aegon’s Managing Director in the UK, as they transformed to a modern investment platform business. Additionally, Mark previously worked as head of personal investing and UK marketing director for Fidelity International as well as positions with Standard Life, HomeServe PLC and Barclays Bank.
Unum UK is a leading provider of financial protection working primarily through Brokers. It specialises in employee benefits and is the market leader for Group Income Protection and a leading provider of Group Life, Critical Illness and Dental products protecting over 2.4m lives.
The US parent company, Unum Group, traces its history back to 1848. It is the largest provider of group and individual disability insurance, has a very strong voluntary offering and is a Fortune 500 company.
Mark is married, has three children and lives in Kent.
