Tulip Siddiq has been the Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn since 2015 and has served as the Shadow Economic Secretary to the Treasury since November 2021. Ms Siddiq has been actively engaged with industry through her time as the Shadow City Minister, particularly on discussions around the new secondary growth objective, the Financial Services and Markets Bill, Solvency II reform and financial inclusion. Ms Siddiq spoke at launch of the ABI’s Securing Future’s campaign and parliamentary reception in 2022 and highlighted the vital support that insurers provide for communities when they are impacted by flooding.
Labour has been carrying out a review into financial services policy, which the ABI has fed into and is due to be published in February 2024. We look forward to hearing from Ms Siddiq on the findings and proposals from the financial services review and on what Labour’s priorities are for the industry as we head towards the General Election later this year.
