Rachel Reeves, Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer

Rachel Reeves.jpgWe are delighted to announce that the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rachel Reeves, will be attending the ABI’s Annual Conference 2023. The Shadow Chancellor will be taking part in a Q&A session with the ABI’s Director General, Hannah Gurga, discussing the role our industry has to play in supporting the UK economy and Labour’s vision for our world leading sector.

Rachel Reeves has been the Labour MP for Leeds West since 2010 and has been the Shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer since May 2021. Ms Reeves met with member CEOs in December 2021 and has been actively engaged with the ABI and wider industry on the reform of Solvency II and the Financial Services and Markets Bill. Before becoming the Shadow Chancellor, Ms Reeves was previously the Shadow Chancellor for the Duchy of Lancaster and served as the Chair of the BEIS Select Committee, where she had engagement with the industry on responding to flooding and on travel insurance.
