The Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity (GAIN) is delighted to welcome the Association of British Insurers (ABI) as a founder member of GAIN.
With over 200 member companies, the ABI represents the UK’s world-leading insurance and long-term savings industry. By becoming a founder member of GAIN, the ABI will seek to accelerate and champion the benefits of neurodiversity to an industry that employs over 310,000 people.
The ABI is the latest edition to a growing number of giants in the industry, who are joining together to unlock the potential neurodiverse individuals bring to the workplace. The full list of industry founder members are Aviva, BIBA, Lexxic, Marsh UK & Ireland, Principal, Swiss Re, UnderwriteMe and Zurich. Alongside founding partners ArcQ, Ambitious about Autism, Expand the Circle and ISC Group.
It is hoped this joint initiative will bring about a meaningful change for all. It will seek to create opportunities for neurodiverse individuals to access and thrive in employment by bringing understanding and training to embed inclusive recruitment, adjustment, and retention practices and, in addition accessible insurance advice.
Yvonne Braun, Executive Sponsor of Diversity, Inclusion and Equity at the Association of British Insurers said:
"We are delighted to become a founder member of GAIN. Neurodiverse people and disabled people have many skills that could greatly benefit our sector, yet they are struggling to be recruited. By working with GAIN, we hope to help drive change across the industry and create more employment and career opportunities for neurodiverse individuals.”
