The Work and Wellbeing Hub
Here you can find information relating to health, wellbeing and protection including advice, guidance, and common questions relating to insurance and long-term savings products.
As we face the unprecedented challenges and changes that the Coronavirus pandemic has wrought for the economy, our lives and our workplaces, understanding your financial resilience and ensuring workplace wellbeing, is more important than ever.
These changes have come about at a time when the world of work, and the role of individuals, employers and the government within it, was already changing rapidly - with new responsibilities for employers around workplace benefits, changing employee rights and responsibilities, under the Good Work Plan, and shifting work patterns and models such as gig-work and increased trends towards flexible working.
Insurance and long-term savings firms play a fundamental role in helping customers and businesses to navigate these changes by supporting preventative services to manage wellbeing and boost productivity, manage return to health after illness or injury and provide financial safety nets for individuals and families suffering from illness, injury or bereavement.
In the Work and Wellbeing Hub, the ABI has brought together information on the support insurers provide: From the “Percy the Protection Calculator” tool, to help individuals plan for to meet their needs should the worst happen, to a toolkit to help employers turn a legal requirement into an opportunity to nurture employee wellbeing.

Mental Health and Wellbeing
Mental health conditions might not be as easy to pin down as physical health conditions, but insurers are increasingly recognising the need to provide cover and support to people suffering with mental ill health.
One in four of us in the UK will be affected by a mental health problem in any given year, and of these, around four million will also struggle with their financial wellbeing. We are therefore aware of the importance and value of insurance in protecting you when life doesn’t go to plan.
